Pre-registration pharmacy technician, Molly East, started at Ashworths Chemist during the Covid pandemic and has been an asset to the pharmacy ever since, showing an enormous amount of willingness to learn and improve her professional skills and knowledge. She completed the Health Improvement course and became a Health Champion within just three months of starting. Having blazed through the dispensing course, she is now over half-way through her pharmacy technician course, on track to qualify in January 2024. 

On top of this, she has become a trained vaccinator and has already provided flu and Covid vaccinations to over 2,000 people, as part of the pharmacy’s services. What an achievement. The judges certainly thought so, naming her highly commended for the Clinical Services Star category.

And she hasn’t just impressed in the vaccination services. Molly goes out of her way to shadow the responsible pharmacist to improve her consultation skills and it’s certainly showing, having successfully helped a patient to reach their target of losing eight per cent of their total body weight in order to bring their BMI down to a healthy level. “Covid vaccinations, Health Champion, smoking cessation, BP check plus medicines reconciliation – Molly is a great asset to Ashworths!” says Mike Holden, RoE judge and associate director at Pharmacy Complete. 

Molly also planned a health promotion event in the spring, held at the pharmacy. She hoped to promote the pharmacy’s healthy living services to anyone who wanted to get involved. Keep up the good work Molly!
